Jobs at The Barn KT9

The Barn KT9 community thrives on coffee. Be it before or after a class in the gym, campers the morning after a night in a Bell Tent or walkers & cyclists coming through for a hot drink & some food. We are expanding The Barn KT9 business to include the operation of the cafe from March, and we need some passionate, consumer focused friendly faces to front the cafe. You'll get to work from our snazzy new container and enjoy the views all day long.  

 

Head Barista

  • Trading Hours: Tue-Fri 9-2 // Sat-Sun 9-3 (Working hours ~ +30m before and after trading hours).

  • Pay: £14/hr + quarterly profit share bonus scheme

  • Extras: Unlimited membership included for our on-site gym. Opportunity to work additional hours at evening and weekend events (if you want to!) and help with the campsite, gym and flexible working space. As much coffee as you can drink and as much holiday time as you would like to take.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years barista experience with a passion for quality, consistently extracted espresso and beautiful latte art. Ability to train and mentor junior members of staff to maintain level of coffee at all times.

  • Confident, positive personality 

  • Ability to work calmly under pressure

Job Description

You will be the face of the cafe, responsible for the day to day running of the business and central to the product which is both delivered and developed over time. Initially the product offering will be hot & cold drinks and cold food. There are regular food truck slots on Sundays.  Most midweek shifts will be run solo, with weekends run as a team of 2-3.

Regular training via our Coffee supplier will also be available for continued skill development

​

Junior Barista & Front of House

  • Hours: Fri, Sat & Sun 9-3, (Working hours ~ +30m before and after trading hours).

  • Pay: £12/hr + quarterly profit share bonus scheme

  • Extras: Unlimited membership included for our on-site gym. Opportunity to work additional hours at evening and weekend events (if you want to!). As much coffee as you can drink, and as much holiday time as you would like to take.

  • Customer service experience would be great but not compulsory

Job Description

You will be working as front of house at the cafe, greeting and speaking to customers whilst taking orders. We're after someone who is interested in coffee with a view to you being able to work as a barista in their own right. Training will be available to upgrade your barista skills. There's scope to get involved with other areas of The Barn KT9 too, including events, the flexible working space and campsite.
