Olive's Tipi

29th March - 26th April 2021

On 29th March, outdoor baby classes of up to 15 people will become legal in the UK.

​

Here at The Barn KT9, we are very excited about this, particularly Olive!

​

​

We will have a beautiful Tipi on site at the farm for four weeks of baby classes from 29th March, led by some of the best local experts so that you can get your little one some of the fun that they have missed out on for the last few months.

​

The timetable is below with links through to book with each respective third party..

​

Please note, that unfortunately there are no toilet facilities available on site due to Covid restrictions on shared bathrooms.

​

Please aim to arrive no sooner than 10 minutes before your session as there is limited parking on site and some sessions run back-to-back.

​

The tipi is an outdoor space, so keep an eye on the weather forecast and dress appropriately.

​

Olive's Tipi is at Rushett Farm, Malden Rushett, KT9 2NH. There is a gate on the driveway which you will be given the code to if needed in advance of your session.

​

9:45 - Baby Massage with Lynsey from Little Hartly Wellness Club 

A gentle baby-led 4 week course to learn the life long skill of baby massage.

You will learn:

- Relaxation techniques for parents. 

- How to recognise when your little one is ready for a massage.

- The full baby massage routine.

- All the beautiful benefits of baby massage.

- Gentle songs to incorporate into the routines.

​

For babies 8 weeks to crawling, baby massage oil is provided.

​

11:00 - Baby Yoga with Lynsey from Little Hartly Wellness Club

A gentle but playful baby-led 4 Week Course to support your baby's development.

You will learn:

- Relaxation techniques for parents.

- Dry baby massage - no oils required.

- All amazing benefits of baby yoga.

- The full baby yoga routine, including, swings, dips and Tummy Time techniques.

- Yoga inspired stretches for parents 


For babies 12 weeks plus.

Please note: This class includes yoga inspired stretches for parents, but is not a parent yoga class.

15:15 & 16:00 - 20th April - Tipi Tunes!

 

Join our Tipi Tunes classes for an amazing introduction to music for babies. 

 

Exposing children to music during early years helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words. 

Our classes will be fun, informal and will provide you a chance to interact with your baby using the power of music. 

 

 

The classes will be hosted by Hetta and Fleur, Hetta is a Norland Nanny and founder of Ask Mrs Trollope an advice service for parents and parents to be. Fleur is an accredited musician with a background of teaching and performing music within early years. Tipi Tunes has been formed by their passion for music and bringing new parents together. 

 

Bring a little blanket or mat for you and your baby to sit on and dress according to the weather!

10:30 + 11:45 - Postnatal Uplift with Tori 

Postnatal Uplift Mum & Baby fitness classes are about easing tension and strengthening your body to help with everything that life throws at you as a new mum, whilst boosting your mood. 

​

10:30 - THE BEGINNING: Is for anyone who is ready to return to exercise after having their baby. The focus is on rehab and rebuilding the core, the pelvic floor connection and foundations, however that doesn't mean it'll be easy!

11:45 - THE NEXT LEVEL: Is for anyone who has been exercising for at least 6 weeks. If you've been exercising for less than this time, we'd recommend THE BEGINNING to ensure your body gets the attention it deserves.

​

Exercising with a community of like-minded women, the 50 minute session will work on opening up tight areas and strengthening the weaker ones to leave you walking taller, feeling more energised and a little sweaty.

​

BYOB (that’s bring your own baby) as it’s hard enough finding time to work out with one, let alone finding time without them. They will also form part of the workout which should bring a smile to their face and yours!

​

Breastfeeding and changing of course welcome, though to get the best out of the class I recommend coming with a clean and well fed baby.

​

Please wear comfortable, supportive trainers and bring your own mat.

19:00 - Uplift with Em

Welcome to UpLift Everyone (inc. Pre & Post Natal) where you'll spend 60 minutes moving, sweating and lifting things, while also boosting your mood.

 

Whether you're a beginner or if this is old hat, our qualified female personal trainers will make sure the workout if adapted to your needs. All circuits in this class are suitable for Pre and Post Natal too (provided you've been cleared by your healthcare professional to exercise).

 

Held at The Barn KT9 on Rushett Farm you'll be building strength in a bootcamp style class with a mix of farm equipment, weights and bodyweight.
We'll start off with a mobilising warm up and then move into strength circuits where you can take things whatever pace/intensity suits you.

10:00 - Postnatal Pilates with Sophie at The Pilates Life

​

This class aims to accelerate your recovery making you feel stronger and more connected in the process. It will help rebuild your core strength, pelvic floors and posture, alleviating tension and helping regain overall control of your body. 

​

Please make sure you have been cleared by your healthcare professional to exercise. Babies are welcome to join!

Please bring your own mat or let Sophie know beforehand if you need to borrow one for the class.

31st Mar + 14th April - 13:30 - Family First Aid with Jayne from Daisy First Aid

This 2 hour class is perfect for anyone that has a baby or child and wants to learn some basic first aid skills without being overwhelmed with technical information.

​

The session empowers parents/grandparents and carers and gives you the confidence to act fast in an emergency.

The class covers:

  • Keeping yourself safe

  • CPR & recovery positions

  • choking

  • meningitis

  • anaphylaxis

  • shock

  • burns

  • head injuries

  • febrile seizures

  • broken bones

  • poison

  • bleeding & bandaging


£25 per person

10:00 - Mum & Baby Yoga with Rose from Birth & More

Suitable from 12 weeks to crawling. Each class will include around 25 minutes of postnatal yoga for mum with interactive elements to keep baby entertained! And then some dedicated baby yoga and songs.

 

There is also time to socialise with other mums so it offers a gentle way to make new mum friends.

Please wear your mask to mat and then you can remove it for the duration of the class.

Supplied:

  • Shaker/chiffon to use with baby

  • Biscuits!

Please bring:

  • Yoga mat

  • Towel/blanket for your baby to lie on

  • Own drink

11:15 - Baby Massage with Rose from Birth & More

Suitable from 8 weeks to crawling. Over the 4 weeks you will learn an age appropriate full body massage routine. Massage is a beautiful way to bond with your baby, I'll guide you but this course is really about you spending time with your baby.

 

If time allows we'll also do some gentle neck and shoulder stretches for mum! There is also time to socialise with other mums so it offers a gentle way to make new mum friends.

​

Please wear your mask to mat and then you can remove it for the duration of the class.

Supplied:
- Massage oil sample size
- Biscuits!
- Massage routine handout

Please bring:
- Yoga mat or similar to sit on, cushion optional

13:00 - Mum & Baby Pilates with Chloe at Selkie Pilates

A gentle return to exercise class following the birth of your baby. Chloe, an ex midwife will take you through postural realignment, pelvic floor conditioning ,abdominal strengthening and some lovely stretching of all those tired Mummy muscles.

 

An excellent class to start your postnatal recovery with or to use in combination with other postnatal exercise classes. Very relaxing and destressing. Great way to meet other Mums and babies AT LAST!!
6-8 week Postnatal check up by GP or MW essential to attend the class. No babies on the move .

 

Fully Covid compliant...masks on all the time until we start the class. Pre class covid screen, temperature checked on arrival, your equipment to be wiped down with antibac following the class.
Bring your own mat and a blanket/rug for your baby to lie on.


Chloe will provide all other equipment used.

9:30 - Hatha Flow Yoga with Claire from Align and Thrive 


In this yoga class, we practice and repeat the basic, foundational yoga postures to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body.

 

Over the 4 week course we build on the classic the sun salutation sequence adding additional postures to create a flow. You can expect an emphasis on simplicity, repetition and ease of movement. Breathing techniques and meditation are included to release tension from the body and relax the mind.

Modifications to poses are offered so that everyone can participate to their level.
 

Mixed level - BEGINNERS WELCOME!

11:00 - Mum & Baby Yoga with Claire from Align and Thrive

Reconnect with yourself, gently rebuild your strength, bond with your baby and make new friends! This 4 week course combines gentle movement incorporating  balancing, strengthening and restorative poses to help you recover after pregnancy and birth.

 

Babies are incorporated into the class by play, touch and eye contact (if they want to be!) but you are welcome to feed, change nappies or just let baby sleep - the class is relaxed and focussed on supporting you as a new mum through this exciting and sometimes challenging time. 
Suitable from 6 weeks after vaginal birth and 8 weeks after c-section, up until baby is on the move.

saturday & SUNDAY

Sat 3rd - 11:15 , then Sundays at 09:30 for 3 weeks - Pilates with Sophie at The Pilates Life

With a mix of toning and stretching this full body class aims to build your core strength, improve posture and overall physical wellbeing, whatever level you are.  Each class is flowing, dynamic and beneficial to everyday living. With every class I teach you’ll help prevent injury, focus on bodily alignment and get a good old core work out!
